Welcome
Welcome to my ePortfolio for Mary Washington's Summer 2009 ITEC 501 class! Here you will find a plethora of information, not only about myself but about the program, my teaching philosophy and Virginia teaching standards.
Please feel free to look around and enjoy!
As for myself, my name is Lindsay Simpson and I am a second-year graduate student at the University of Mary Washington. I graduated in 2007 from Christopher Newport University with my Bachelor's of Arts in English with a concentration in Journalism and a minor in Literature. I am sure it won't be hard to guess what I want to teach! (High school English, just in case you didn't know!)
The title of this site is based on a quote that I absolutely adore from George Bernard Shaw.
"What we want is to see the child in pursuit of knowledge, and not knowledge in pursuit of the child."
